Scott Gorcester - Founder and Chief Executive OfficerScott is an IT visionary and entrepreneur. He founded VirtualQube in 2012 and has been defining the company strategy, refining the products and developing a strong partnership program. He is a seasoned businessman and skilled IT architect, technician and trainer. He and his team designed and built the technology stacks in use by VirtualQube today. Prior to founding VirtualQube, he was president of Moose Logic, an IT company he founded in 1994. Moose Logic was one of the original 100 Citrix resellers and Scott was one of the first people to use the technology to provide early cloud computing solutions for clients. Moose Logic received accolades for numerous accomplishments including three consecutive years on the Puget Sound Business Journal’s “Fast Growing Companies in Washington State” list. It was also the #1 reseller of Citrix Software in the United States in the first quarter of 1999, beating out companies four to five times its size. Scott entered the technology industry in 1991 as a sales executive with Applied Computer Sciences. He is an accomplished race car driver, winning the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs’ “Super Production Over 5 Liters” (SPO) Championship in 2002 and setting a course qualifying record for Improved Touring “E” class in 2006. Scott was accepted into the SCCA Pro series in 2006. He is not currently competing, but he continues to hone his driving skills on a track and racing simulator. In addition, he is working on a program to encourage young people to become better drivers. Scott understands the importance of a well-designed machine and applies the same attention-to-detail and integrity to his clients’ business systems as he does to his race cars.
Karl Burns - Chief Strategy Officer
Karl is responsible for identifying and driving new business development initiatives for VirtualQube. He has a strong background in management consulting and has helped Fortune 250 companies optimize products and services, enter new markets, develop product lifecycle models, and leverage processes and technology to enhance their bottom-line. His clients included Nike, Best Buy, Nationwide, Ally Bank, Phillips, HP, Dish Network, Citibank, Xerox, and Bank of New York. While a manager at Wipro Consulting, Karl built the structures and processes for talent acquisition within the finance and accounting practice. He also supported the senior partner of the telecommunications to build-out a new practice. While a principal at Frog Design, Karl led multiple internal projects to improve the strategy competency across the Seattle studio. In addition to consulting, he has experience in financial services from working for five years as a relationship manager at PNC Bank in Boston. Karl earned a BA in Economics from Texas A&M; University, and an MBA from Wake Forest University. He continues to support his alma mater by serving on the Alumni Council and fund-raises for discovery grants awarded by the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee. When possible, Karl enjoys wine trips to the Walla Walla Valley, or any good old-world Cab Franc.
Julie Yasny - Director of Operations
Julie is responsible for VirtualQube's business operations, including the finance department, contract and project management, human resources, procurement, and vendor relations. Over her career, she has completed several merger/acquisition events by leading the due-diligence process, coordinating attorneys and audit teams, and integrating back-office operations. Before VirtualQube she held the positions of President / V.P. of Operations for Moose Logic, and General Manager / Regional V.P. of Operations for MTM Technologies / Vector ESP, Inc. She was a senior designer and project manager at Hussmann, Inc., responsible for installations throughout western Washington. Julie is an accomplished artist, a Master Gardener, and enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and snowshoeing in the Cascade Mountains.
Sid Herron - Director of Channel Sales
Sid has a deep technical background and is the go-to resource at VirtualQube for questions about cloud infrastructure options or Microsoft licensing. He also trains and supports VirtualQube partners to ensure their success selling cloud solutions. Sid has earned a number of professional certifications including VM Sales Professional, DataCore Sales Professional, Microsoft Sales and Marketing Competency for Server Platform, and was the first person in the world to earn the Citrix Certified Sales Professional (CCSP). Prior to VirtualQube, he held various roles in technology sales at Moose Logic, Vector ESP / MTM Technologies and Teltone Corp. When not in the office, Sid enjoys hiking and camping with his wife and their two dogs in Washington's North Cascades, as well as singing bass in the Seattle Ensign Symphony & Chorus.
James Pethigal - Director of Professional Services & Datacenter Operations
James is in charge of the VirtualQube infrastructure technology, including datacenter operations. He and his team are responsible for the seamless delivery of cloud products and services. Throughout his 15-year career, he has always remained informed about the most current technology and has earned numerous technical certifications, including MCSE, MCTS, CCA, CCSA, among others. One of his biggest accomplishments was building and launching a network supporting more than 1,200 medical staff users at 64 unique locations in under four months. Before working at VirtualQube, James managed the networks and information systems of various firms including PTSO and Aventail Corporation. He smoothly managed the Y2K migration of a major grocery retailer without a single reported issue. James has a Certificate in Data Communications from the University of Washington. For fun, he enjoys getting outdoors and backpacking, kayaking, or climbing. A travel aficionado, he has visited more than 100 countries.
